Jumping in with both feet!!!

Here at Mercy Wings International, we strive to conduct every (Mercy) flight operation in safety and excellence. Each hour of operation is made possible by many more hours of pains-taking maintenance. Mercy Wings International (MWI) and missionaries Chuck & Robin Martinez are hosting Eric Cartier of Sierra Vista AZ. During the two week visit, Eric uses his mechanical abilities and learns how to apply them to aviation maintenance.

New arrival to Guatemala

As a missionary pilot in Guatemala, no two days are the same. The plan was to fly empty to Guatemala city and return with an inbound visitor. Flexibility remains the watchword in Central America. Glad to help, MWI was able to respond to last-minute transportation needs, taking on three passengers destined for Guatemala City. Eric is from Shiloh Christian Center, our sending church in southeast Arizona. Currently Eric is enrolled in …

The gangs all here……..

It’s Saturday morning and the entire gang of 63 volunteers are here in Guatemala. At the hour this photo was taken, about half the team is has been working in the Mercy Wings hangar processing more gift boxes. The remaining half is getting settled on the Living Water Teaching campus, and will be here after lunch. Still getting the hang of my “selfie-stick”, but as you can see in the …

Another Mercy Wings mission complete……

Passengers just after landing in Quetzaltenango (Xela). Normally a 4 hour drive between Guatemala City and Xela, Mercy Wings International completed the transport in just 30 minutes. Hows that for “Speeding the Gospel”?

A day to remember…..every two years that is

Flight operations in Guatemala are not for everyone. In the world of aviation, there’s flying, and then there’s flying. By comparison, flying in North America provides some pleasingly wide boundaries when it comes to flight planning, decision-making, and system management. Cast your gaze in just about any direction, and it is likely you’ll find a runway with fuel, maintenance facilities, control tower, and restaurant. Not so when it comes to Guatemala. …

First add your faith to ours, believing that all provision is released for this project. Add action to your prayer, by sharing this project with your circle of influence. Finally, purpose in your heart to support with finances. James …

Shocking News!!!!

After 25 years the electrical system of the Mercy Wings International hangar is in dire need of some repairs and upgrades. Flickering lights, popping circuit breakers, shocking faucets, and smoking wires, have gotten our attention. Here in Guatemala, it is typical to use less than sufficient gauge wire to support an ever modified and increasing electrical load. Several estimates were ordered, with the most reasonable cost for the project being …

Another brick in the wall

The mission of Mercy Wings International (MWI) is to serve Ministers, missionaries, ministry workers and the needy people of Guatemala. Each brick- in-the-wall represents fuel for one hour of flight time, at a cost of only $100.00 USD. In this simple way, individuals, home groups, churches, and organizations can ensure that MWI remains ready to answer the call. Monthly (tax deductible) giving, keeps MWI fully equipped and flight ready. Send your …

Baby needs new shoes……..

Good news, Mercy Wings International (MWI) aviation services continue to grow in Guatemala. Bad news, soon “baby will indeed need new shoes”. The rough strips exact a heavy toll when landing a 3600 lb aircraft. Effectively reducing the useful life of aircraft tires. The Mercy Wings International, Cessna T206H, uses two (2) 800-6 main landing gear (MLG) tires. Each tire will cost $200.00 each, not to mention each new tire must …
