Life on Pause

This intersection leading to “Parque Central” (Central Park) portrays an unfamiliar scene. On any given day the city center is crowded with traffic, vehicles, people & pigeons.

Like a scene out of the Twilight Zone, where for one science-fiction reason or another, hapless characters appear in a world that is seemingly on pause.  In our city of Quetzaltenango (Xela Ju), there are areas that are near 500 years old.  Some of these established routes started out as animal trail then developed into path, street, road, and finally into these concrete avenue’s.  I can imagine that rarely if ever, have these pathways been still.  Life continues to change for all of us, as measures are implemented to defeat the spread of -19.  In rapid secession, public gatherings of any kind have been suspended, store hours reduced, and a nation-wide curfew has now been (temporarily!?!) imposed from 4pm to 4am daily.  Pharmacies are limiting certain medications and supplies, most have signs indicating that hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves are no longer available.  Today in the here and now, even as the latest precautionary measures go into effect, missionaries are still on the job!  This is what you can do: Keep praying, keep encouraging, keep giving!

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work –2 Corinthians 9:8
